Founding Community & Venture Lead
Malaika
About the role
Malaika is building the home for ambitious founders. We connect founders, investors, operators, universities, governments and corporate innovators through community, venture, housing, education and unforgettable in-person experiences. Today we’re rooted in San Francisco. Tomorrow we’ll serve founders everywhere. Your Mission Build a community so valuable that founders, investors and partners can’t imagine building without it. This isn’t an events role. It’s an ecosystem-building role. What You’ll Own
Founder success and community operations. Founder residency management. Founder and investor education. Virtual and in-person events. Partnerships with VCs, accelerators, universities and ecosystem partners. GTM IRL activations for startups and corporate partners. Systems that help founders raise capital, find customers and build meaningful relationships. This Role Is Fully Remote You don’t need to live in San Francisco—but you do need to make it feel like you’re here. You’ll create world-class founder experiences, coordinate global events, build relationships across time zones and ensure every founder feels supported, wherever they are. We’re looking for someone who can build community through systems, communication and exceptional execution—not physical proximity. You Should Already Understand
Venture capital. Startup fundraising. Accelerators. Founder communities. Investor relations. Startup ecosystems. We can teach you our playbook. We won’t teach Venture 101. We’re Looking For Someone Who
Moves fast and takes ownership. Is exceptionally organized. Is AI-native. Naturally connects people. Thinks in systems. Creates value before asking for anything in return. Measures progress, not just activity. Success Looks Like Every week, more founders should succeed because Malaika exists. You’ll increase:
Founder engagement. Investor participation. Strategic partnerships. Founder introductions. Event attendance. Paying members. Residency applications. Startup and corporate GTM activations. We believe in consistent, measurable improvement—small gains that compound over time. To Apply Along with your résumé and LinkedIn profile, we’d like three things: 1. A short video (maximum 5 minutes) introducing yourself and explaining why you’re the right person for this role. 2. A one-page plan answering this question: “This role is fully remote. How would you make a founder in Nairobi, an investor in New York, a corporate partner in London and a founder visiting San Francisco all feel like they’re part of the same community?” 3. Tell us about one founder community, accelerator or ecosystem you admire. What makes it exceptional, and what would you do differently? We’re not looking for someone to manage a community. We’re looking for someone to build one of the most valuable founder ecosystems in the world.
